On Thursday, the 14th of May 2026, Suicide or Survive launched its new five-year strategic plan, ‘Courageous Conversations for Suicide Prevention in Ireland: 2026–2030’, at St. Laurence’s Church, TU Dublin Campus.

The strategy was officially launched by Mary Butler, TD, Government Chief Whip & Minister for State with responsibility for Mental Health alongside Suicide or Survive staff, Board Members, representatives from the statutory, community, voluntary, trusts, and foundation sectors, together with volunteers, supporters, programme participants and people with lived and living experience of suicide.

Based on the belief that “courageous conversations can and do prevent suicide”, the strategy sets out Suicide or Survive’s vision for the next five years, of an Ireland where people have the courage to speak about suicide and the space to be heard, so that hope is possible even on the darkest of days. This is underpinned by the values: Courage, Hope, Compassion and Understanding.
