This coming September, a group of seven lads will undertake the ‘Four Peaks Challenge’ for Suicide or Survive (SOS). The challenge consists of scaling the four highest peaks across the beautiful Irish island, on the condensed time scale of two days! Carrauntoohil, Mweelrea, Lugnaquilla and finally Slieve Donard, each mountain spells a gruelling challenge to be met with vigour and determination.
Our group marks a collaboration between the counties, four from Longford, two from Roscommon and one Dubliner make the gang, as well as two drivers and a support team. The challenge will be staged across three days from September the 1st to the 3rd, with the climbing concentrated across the latter two days.
We have chosen to raise funds for the mental health and suicide prevention charity Suicide or Survive (SOS), who give amazing support to those struggling with mental health issues and suicidal ideation. More information about this essential charity can be found here at Suicide or Survive. Your support would be greatly appreciated, and every contribution can make a difference. The world of the mind is a complex place, and the simplicity of a physical challenge can be a way to represent this facet of life which all human beings must grapple with, on one level or another.
