Webinar: Mental Health and the Media with Headline

Join SOS as we chat with Áine O’Meara - Headline Programme Lead. Áine works for mental health charity Shine, and leads their Headline programme. Headline is Ireland’s national media programme for responsible reporting and representation of mental ill health. This conversation will discuss the work of Headline, and their goal to reduce the media’s effect of suicide contagion in Ireland & To improve Irish audiences’ understanding of mental health difficulties.

WEBINAR: Tony10 – The story of Gambling Addiction and Mental Health

Tony is an ex Branch Manager with An Post. In June 2011 his gambling addiction came to light when it was discovered that he had stolen €1.75 million from the organisation to fuel his gambling addiction. As a result of this, he was sentenced to 3 years in Prison. While serving his sentence he re-educated himself and trained as a counsellor. His ambition is to use his personal and professional experience to help people struggling with problem gambling and to help make gambling safer for others.

Join us as SOS facilitator Brian Kelly chats with Tony O'Reilly about his journey through gambling addiction and the impact it had on his life and his mental health.
